We all have a personal relationship with cricket. Many of us love the sport, and a few can’t stand it. However, one thing that we all share is celebrating an event, which is what the IPL is marketed as. A jubilant celebration.
However, on digging deeper into the glitz and glamor, we do come across various lessons through the journeys of these teams. One such team is latest IPL winner i.e. Gujarat Titans.
Let’s talk about the lessons from our Gujju bhais that we can apply in our lives!
- What really created the momentum that propelled GT to the finals is them celebrating each small victory. Be it a great fielding effort, a wicket, a boundary, or a match win.
- Pandya, Rashid, Miller, Ferguson and Tewatia shared one thing in common. They bounced back from trying situations and turned challenges into opportunities.
- The team manager (aka Nehra ji) and the captain led by example by giving free rein to the players. Whether it was Rashid setting up his field or Gill attacking the bowlers from the get go, they empowered each other.
- No single player was forced to carry the team on their shoulders. It was out and out a collaborative effort from beginning to end. There was no superstar effect observed
Celebrating small victories, turning challenges into opportunities, empowering comrades, and collaborating? Sounds familiar. Oh right! These also happen to be our greatness principles that we try to live by each day.
