July 4–9, 2022 marks the inaugural Digital India Week with the theme being Catalyzing India’s New Techade. Before you click away thinking that this is yet another puff piece article about this program, IT’S NOT!
While the post will definitely take cues from the DI Week and ‘Digital India’ program as a whole, we’ll mostly be focusing on the ways in which Classplus contributes to this digitization effort. Not to flex but we happen to do a lot in this regard!😜
Going Online
Starting with the basics, the whole reason Digital India exists is to ensure that India starts going online……..and that’s the goal that drives us!
Classplus was established to help educators and content creators launch and scale up their businesses online. As part of this, we offer them a customized white-label app to reflect their brand. The aim has always been to offer a digital solution to all their teaching needs like classes (LIVE and recorded), communication, assessments, payments, and student engagement programs.
Reducing the Tech Gap
One can say that there was a ‘tech boom’ in India even in the 90s, with the internet and color TV coming into our lives. But you could only access these if you had deep enough pockets. This is one problem that has lingered on, and is true in case of every tech development, thereon.
The Digital India campaign and this week in particular, aim to eliminate this particular problem. So, the penetration of tech innovations to every corner of the country is what these aim for. Not to flex but this is an area where Classplus has nailed it, to an extent.
We are proud of the fact that over these 4 years since we started, more than 70% of our customers have been educators and content creators from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. It’d be safe to say that we were successful in digitizing tuition and education as a whole in these so-called ‘backward’ regions, and we’re not stopping anytime soon.
Contributing to a Knowledge Economy
Coming to the Digital India Week that concludes tomorrow, one of the main aims is to make India a ‘Knowledge Economy’. No, that’s not a term we just made up we promise!
Going by the most basic definition (that we found on Google!), a Knowledge Economy is an economy in which growth is dependent on the quantity, quality, and accessibility of the information available, rather than the means of production.
It happens that our aims are really similar to those of Digital India Week, and the points below prove just that.
- Accessibility: Classplus ensures that no matter where you’re from, if you’re an educator/content creator who needs their own app to digitize their courses and classes, there’s a place for you here. With our own store, students from every corner of the world can access the course of their choice. It also allows tutors to sell individual courses as well as add particular ones in their arsenal. Thus, accessibility for both the students and teachers!
- Quality: We may power the apps that educators/creators use, but the latter will be the sole owners. With sole ownership of the product, tutors can determine the flow, format, and the everything else related to the classes. As we leave the experts to do what they do best, you can be sure that the quality offered will be top notch.
- Quantity: This is a no-brainer TBH! Classplus has managed to digitally empower more than 1 Lac educators. With our family constantly growing and more educators going online, there are enough courses to go around quantity-wise!
To sum it all up, Digital India Week 2022 focuses on improving the accessibility of technology, streamlining service delivery as well as giving a boost to startups, as claimed by PM Narendra Modi.
Classplus is more than happy to ensure that this becomes a reality!
