“If work isn’t fun, then you’re not playing for the right team! ” - Frank Sonnenberg

The very definition of “going to office” has changed today. Gone are the days of suits, ties👔, and PPTs, which have given way to cool workplaces👨‍💻 that ditch the protocol and offer a fun place to work in . Along with increasing productivity, this helps break the wall between regular and corporate lives.

Talking about “de-formalizing” corporate life, there’s another such avenue that nails it. Moreover, it helps a company reach a wider audience without outright promotions. In case you’re still confused, it’s MEMES.

We at Classplus take our memes very “seriously”🤔; it’s kind of our second language here! So when it comes to our marketing or working with us, you better have you meme game strong!

Still not convinced? This post will tell you how memes act as a great marketing tool, while bridging the gap between fun and work.

  1. Relatable: That’s what memes are for, Duh!😂But what we need to understand here is that it’s this relatability which persuades companies to market their product/service in a way that could be understood by every Tom, Dick, and Harry. In simple words, memes make a product/service more understandable.
  2. Rank Well: When a meme sticks with someone, s/he tends to share/circulate it, and this number keeps increasing. The larger the engagement, the better are the odds of it ranking at the top of search engines like Google. Basically, the brand tops the search results via memes.

3. Fun Messaging: Humor is one of the best ways to connect with consumers. A meme doesn’t just get the message straight but also in a funny way. This way, a viewer starkly remembers it and in turn, remembers the company.

4. Big Attraction: Memes are no less than creatives and/or ad copies (in many cases, the best of both worlds!). Considering the reduced attention span of people today🙄, these are the perfect way to attract eyeballs and eventual customers.

5. Fun to Make: Movie dialogues, song lyrics🎵📄, everyday phrases🗣, and punchlines are the heart of any meme. Thus integrating these with the company product/service is a fun and interesting exercise. This is also where memes bridge the gap between fun/leisure and work. Making a meme requires a creative knack and a good knowledge of the youth culture and lingo. This is only possible if the office environment is updated to the times (read: cool workplace😜).

So turns out memes aren’t just a pastime! If used correctly by the right people, these can end up being a gift that keeps giving.

For the record, we have some memes (read: bangers) of our own too here at Classplus!
