The flip side of working remotely is dealing with the inevitable dry spell that comes when we become disconnected from our clan. Sometimes, this is totally normal, but other times, you might actually be cutting yourself off from your creative flow without realizing or intending to.
On one of those not-so-happening, mundane days, one of our clan members tossed the idea of “Coolness,” and thus, it began. Our clan came up with a novel way to beat boredom, and it’s lit.
But what is it, exactly? Okay so the concept is straightforward; all you need is to tap into the remarkable magic that comes when you find something you really enjoy doing. This can be anything, a movie marathon, meditation, a game, an outdoor activity, or just a good sleeping tip (*anxiety is for real*). You share in the group (*which no one talks about**rules*) and collaborate with other members, and the outcomes are phenomenal.
Let’s take a glimpse at a few recent activities that we exclusively sourced from the group (*we had to do this because of rule number 1*)
Considering that Christmas is all about giving, one of our clan members proposed that we express gratitude in a swap for each other instead of buying gifts this year. Since her goal was to encourage the Secret Santas to share something genuine from their heart, she dubbed this “Secret Santa: Gratitude Edition”. And this allowed people to string a sentence together, the kindest people, truly beautiful inside out.
And not just this, when we asked our clan members “what brings you joy”? They shared what soothes them in the midst of the most trying circumstances. It was dubbed “Therapeutic Week” and activities like music, travel, cooking, and writing were featured as means of escape by those involved.
The management gave a big thumbs up for this idea because “Duniya mein har kaam fayde k liye nahi kiya jaata” plus these fun engagement strategies provide an opportunity for self-expression, creativity, and camaraderie. In turn, they build a stronger sense of community. People — even on a virtual team — will feel like they can be themselves and still be an accepted part of the group.
As Rocky said in KGF, “ Powerful people come from powerful places”, we believe in, “Creative people come from creative workplaces”.
We at Classplus, feel that the best part of the job is the PEOPLE.
